The general public discovered Indian workers with hands burnt by the acidity of the nuts they shell all day long. Although Africa produces more than half of the world\u2019s cashew nuts, more than 85% of the crop is exported to Asia for shelling at low prices.\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-79d3af7 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"79d3af7\" data-element_type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-6cf2011\" data-id=\"6cf2011\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-05d8d9b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"05d8d9b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-large\">The measures implemented by KASANA<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-eb71ad4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"eb71ad4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul>\r\n \t<li>KASANA\u2019s cashew nuts are <strong>harvested and shelled in Burkina Faso<\/strong>. A <strong>shelling machine<\/strong> has been made available to the workers in order to encourage this <strong>transformation on site<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n \t<li>The burns are caused by prolonged contact with the nuts in shell. In order to <strong>limit this contact<\/strong>, the Chouboupi cooperative, with which KASANA collaborates for its cashew nut supply chain, owns a <strong>sorting machine to grade the nuts<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>The nuts in shell are also pre-heated with steam and then cooled for 24 hours.
